Always Find The Good

Every single person I know has bad days--you know those days where you constantly drop every single thing you pick up, trip over things, stub your toes, or are irritable and want to world to go away for a day. The thing that I find most people are lacking is the ability to see the good. If you dropped some food on the floor while preparing it, at least you are fortunate enough to have that food in the first place. If you are irritable and want everyone to disappear for a while, at least you have people there in the first place. The same goes for stubbing your toe--you have a home, and furniture to stub your toe on. If you get in a fight with someone, make sure you never ever let the great times you have shared leave your mind at any point, and pray they are able to do the same. This will make it a lot easier to solve the issue and smile at future memories.

No, I am not writing this as an advice column, or even as a way to "fix" things in your life when they go wrong; however, thinking this way certainly wouldn't hurt anybody. I am writing this because today I had a huge wake-up call. In all fairness, I have quite a few of these, but somehow, today's was much different--a lot more makes sense now.

It's hard enough to go through life, but you know what makes it even harder? Feeling invisible and underappreciated. It's so easy to lose sight of the little things in our lives that bring our days together and create the good memories later, that oftentimes we forget to give thanks, praise, or let people in our lives know how truly grateful we are, and how much we appreciate them. Take my husband for example, he gets up early in the mornings with our boys because I get up with them during the night. Have I thanked him for this? Absolutely! I tell him how truly grateful I am for it all the time, but words don't mean much nowadays. It is when I show him my gratitude by getting up early and letting him sleep, that I feel we connect more.

Life is short. We forget how truly short it really is. Don't take it for granted. Don't take anything at all that you have in your life for granted, whether it be people or furniture, air in your lungs, or a roof over your head. There are always bigger things to think about and discuss. I feel the bigger picture gets lost in the rat race of every day life. That is why our family of four is planning this epic adventure to live in our motor home full time, travel across Canada, and help people and our environment out wherever we can along the way.

If you would like to know more about our efforts to do so, our penciled in dates we hope to be places, or if you'd like our help, to support us, or to become a member of our little family through sponsorship and reap all the benefits that entails, you can visit our website at thepyhooyaproject.wixsite.com/thepyhooyaproject for more information.

As you go through your day tomorrow, keep your cup of gratefulness overflowing. Take note of anything and everything that brings joy to your life or a smile to your face. I mean, not everyone plans theme music to walk up the stairs to each morning, just to see their families smiles (hahaha).
