Two years ago, in 2018, we decided we were going to embark on a journey with our two children. We made huge plans to buy a camper, live in it, travel around and immerse ourselves and our children in the world around us. We sat down and deliberated over the name we would choose for our family adventures, landing on "4 Nuts In A Shell". We were excited, we were nervous--rather, I was nervous, having never traveled before--but most of all, we were so sure we wanted to change our lifestyle that we could picture everything in our minds.

...that was two years ago. What happened? We let life live us, instead of us living life. At every twist and turn, we allowed ourselves to become a little more beat--a little more defeated. Our goals began to get pushed back and our dreams were put on the back burner. We made every excuse imaginable about why we "couldn't" do things, or why "it wasn't safe for the kids", and constantly haggled about money. We became "those people"...the people who don't jump for fear of the unknown; the people who just give up because the situation we were in was not ideal; the people who whined and moaned about every little thing under the sun instead of making our dreams a reality. We filled our days with excuses and complaining, and in no time at all, two years had passed and we didn't realize how far away we had pushed our motivation to keep trying.

Then, we made another decision. One night, after we had put our boys down to bed, we sat on the couch and we talked long and hard about what we wanted, where we were, and what was needed to get to the point in our lives that we so longed to be at. We set a timeline and made a plan. We decided it was time to stop the excuses and complaining and make things happen, regardless of circumstance or situation.

Because of this regained train of thought, my husband wrote and published his first book, The Road To PYHOOYA, which has gained traction and has been ordered and shipped to four different countries thus far. He works feverishly on The PYHOOYA Project website every day so we can get it up and running and share with all of you the amazing things we plan to do to help others out during our travels. I have begun writing a fiction novel, many children's books, many poetry books, and a plant based cookbook, which I will be working tirelessly on to insure they are all published as well. I also designed and created this website, as well as all of our social media followings--Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube--to insure you can all follow along with us on our journey.

I know what you're all thinking, "Yay, two people did stuff. So what?" The point of the matter is, we did "do stuff", and we will continue to "do stuff". Think of something in your life that brings you the most joy. How much time and effort do you spend on it? How much thought do you put into it each day, week, and month? How amazing would it be if everyone threw fear, excuses and negativity out the window and put that much time and effort into achieving their dreams? What if, regardless of situation, circumstance, or naysayers, we all spent every second of spare time we had reaching for those highly desired worlds we have created in our minds instead of finding mindless entertainment to pass the time? Steve Hartman, the guy who created the pool noodle, is a billionaire! Do you honestly think people thought that was a great idea when he first told them!?! He's from Toronto, Canada for crying out loud! We have winter for over half the year!...but he didn't give up--didn't listen to any negativity, and look at him now!

Will Smith had it right when he said, "You don't set out to build a wall. You don't say, "I'm going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that's ever been built." You say, "I'm going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid," and you do that every single day, and soon you have a wall."

Don't fall into the trap that we did. Yes, we have had to become very creative, as we currently live in a town with very few businesses and no jobs. It is also a reality that we have no vehicle, except our motorhome, which is currently in the shop getting fixed up, and has been for the last four months, but those are realities of our life, and we will never again let those realities turn into excuses for why we aren't still trying everything in our power to sell everything and get out on the open road! Don't ever let YOU be the reason you don't achieve your dreams! Get creative, find a way. Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right."
