Recently, we had the extreme pleasure of presenting live virtually at Canada's biggest RV show! We will be uploading that video to our YouTube channel when it comes available to us. During our presentation, we were asked many questions and have been asked many prior to this as well. I have compiled the questions we get asked most often below, and what our answers are to them based on our experiences.

What Do We Use For WiFi?
This one is easy for us, because we don't have a WIFI provider so to speak. Before we began our full time RV lifestyle, we knew we would have to find a solution for this, as most of our work is done online. The problem was, we kept hearing about people with weak internet signals, even IN campgrounds.
We thought about this and then realized that, for us, there was a really easy solution. To negate having slow connections, or weak signals, not to mention another bill to pay, we decided to get more gigs on our phones instead. At the moment, my husband has 25 gigs of fast internet, and unlimited slower internet after that. I have 50 gigs of fast internet, and then unlimited slower internet after that.

We stream Netflix for our kids, and that is our only source of TV, watched from our phones. We tether to our laptops to complete our work. It also allows us to get all of our work done, even when we do sometimes run over the fast gigs a bit and have to practice patience. Pot of coffee anyone?
How Do We Get Our Mail?
For us, everything is online. We only have our cell phone bills and rig insurance, so that one's easy. For tax purposes, we use an affixed address from a friend back in our home province to file, but everything else is...you guessed it...online.

If you are planning on staying in one spot very long, you can always go down to your closest postal service, where you can pay a small fee for a box number as well. This way, you are still able to receive mail from loved ones.
How Do We School Our Children?
Our boys are four and five years old, and we knew from day one that we did not want them to be in a traditional school setting, as we wanted them to learn a lot outside of what is taught. Because of this, we unschool our boys.

What is unschooling? Wikipedia defines it as: "an informal learning that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning. Unschoolers learn through their natural life experiences including play, household responsibilities, personal interests and curiosity, internships and work experience, travel, books, elective classes, family, mentors, and social interaction. Often considered a lesson- and curriculum-free implementation of homeschooling, unschooling encourages exploration of activities initiated by the children themselves, believing that the more personal learning is, the more meaningful, well-understood and therefore useful it is to the child."
What Is It Like Full Time RVing With Kids?
For us, full time RVing with kids isn't all that different from living with kids in a sticks and bricks house. We spend a lot of our time outdoors--in summer, we are rarely inside at all, and our children have learned a lot more than they ever would have because of our traveling.

Yes, there are some days that try your patience, but we had those in a sticks and bricks as well. Kids take time and effort. If they see you are happy, they will be too. Creativity is your best friend! Our kids use our spring mattresses as a trampoline before we make our bed into a couch in the mornings. They pull one mattress halfway down the front seats to make a slide, or they stand them up and make forts out of them.
As long as our children are smiling and having fun, who cares about the mess. It's just stuff.
What Are The Biggest Things We've Learned About RV Life?
For us, the biggest and most difficult thing to learn was changing our mindset. This has been the defining factor of every single other thing involved in living this type of a lifestyle.

We were "work the 9-5, come home, make dinner, rush to clean up and get the kids to bed in time" kind of people, as so many others are. Changing our mindsets to live a slower paced life took us almost a month, and somedays, it still slips our minds that we have nowhere to be and no time limit on anything at all that we do. When you are used to rushing, it is HARD to slow down!
Another area we had to change our mindset for was repairs. When you RV, there are a LOT of things that will need to be fixed or repaired, and most times, not at the most convenient moments. When we were first on the road, we were getting frustrated, overwhelmed, moody, and downright mad every time something would go wrong because it was hindering our new lifestyle. Over time, we learned to just accept anything and everything that happens, stay calm, deal with it, laugh later, and move on. There is zero point in getting stressed about that which is out of your control. Every single experience is also an opportunity to learn and grow.
The final area we had to learn to slow down was with our children. We were so used to rushing them and needing things done quickly to arrive places at a certain time, that it became a very hard habit to break! We found that just to head outside to play, we were still rushing them. Getting shoes on to walk to the store, or go for a leisurely walk, we would be rushing them while in the house so we could go. It took a while for us to step back, say, "Woah, where's the fire?" and take a breath!

Which Apps Do We Use For Free Camping and Dump Stations?
First of all, let me just reiterate that we are currently living and RVing in Canada. Some of these apps may not benefit those living in the States, but I'm sure there are similar ones out there.
To find great off-grid camping spots, we either use freecampsites.net, iOverlander, maps of logging roads in the area, local Facebook groups for the area we're in, or we seek out Crown Land. With any of the above listed resources, you need to be careful based on your rig size to make sure you will fit and will not drive in somewhere you can't get out of.

To find local area to dump our tanks and fill our water, we use either the sanidumps site, or iOverlander. If there isn't anything close to where you are, you can also contact local campgrounds and oftentimes they let you use their facilities for a small fee.
How Do We Make Money While On The Road?
Think of something you love to do, or have always wanted to do, but never pursued because everyone always told you it wasn't a lucrative career, and then imagine diving in 100% and doing it one day because to you, anything you love is worth doing. That's what we did.
Since I was very young, I have written...a lot! I had written over six hundred poems, many short stories, and started many novels that were shoved into a box in the back of my closet for years because "that's not a career". It all changed for me when I began being asked to write for a magazine because they liked my writing style. From there, I wrote and release my first book on amazon, which talks about how to live a longer, happier, healthier life, and have continued to write every single evening since then because I love to do it!

My husband has always believed life can be lived as though it's a holiday every day, so he made that happen. He too works in the evenings and has the whole day to himself. To date, he has written and published, "The Road to PYHOOYA" and"Operation PYHOOYA 365: Life by Design". He also has two different courses out on how to create a "Passive Income Empire (P.I.E)"with zero overhead costs, a free blogging course, and has created "The PYHOOYA Challenge" which follows the teachings in his books to create and sustain the life of your dreams!
We also both love making videos and while this does not make us money, some day down the road, it could potentially.
I also have this blog which, once again, does not make us any money, but I LOVE to write, so it's like my little holiday.

There are countless ways to create income while on the road. If you want to learn more ways to do this, you can check out my other blog, "RV Life: 15 Ways To Make An Income While On The Road".
